After starring in Spike Lee’s She’s Gotta Have It Netflix series, DeWanda Wise has something marvelous on deck.

Wise has just been added to the cast of Captain Marvel, the highly anticipated superhero flick from Marvel Studios slated to come out next year. Wise joins Brie Larson, who will star as the title character, and Samuel L. Jackson, who will play a “pre-eye-patch Nick Fury,” according to Vulture.

Before landing the role of Nola Darling in the She’s Gotta Have It reboot, Wise starred in Shots Fired and Underground. According to Deadline, Captain Marvel will mark Wise’s first major movie appearance.

It’s unclear what role Wise will play, but the movie is expected to be set in the ’90s, which hopefully means we’ll see Wise rocking some “drippin’ in finesse”-esque looks on-screen.
