Joe Jackson was in Sao Paulo to celebrate his 87th birthday, but instead of being at his party, he was in a hospital recovering from a stroke, local Brazilian media have reported.
The patriarch of the Jackson family—who helped produce megastar acts like Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson and the Jackson 5—was reportedly admitted to the hospital Sunday afternoon. The hospital that he checked into reportedly emailed a statement to the press acknowledging that Jackson had been admitted.
According to a report by the Associated Press, Jackson had an irregular heartbeat and was being treated in the intensive care unit.
Janet Jackson just released a video for her new single, "Don't Sleeep" (sic), and in it she commemorates her relationship with her dad by showing a photo of the two of them when she was a child. Here's to hoping that Joe Jackson pulls through.
