Apparently the hosts of MSNBC’s Morning Joe seem to think rap music is to blame for the busload of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity members so casually yelling “There will never be a n—ger SAE/There will never be a n—ger SAE/You can hang ’em from a tree, but it will never start with me/There will never be a n—ger SAE.”

During this morning’s episode, co-host Mika Brzezinski took issue with Waka Flocka Flame canceling his upcoming SAE concert, and indicated that he should be to blame for the fraternity’s racist actions.

In response to the asinine conversation, Twitter as usual had the last say with the creation of #RapAlbumsThatCausedSlavery, since rap music seems to be to blame for everything, still. Why not slavery?

The only person who had an ounce of common sense during the segment was Willie Geist. He attempted to explain to the panel that there’s a difference between Waka Flocka and the SAE members. “There is a distinction between a bunch of white kids chanting about hanging someone from a tree, using that term,” Geist said, “and Waka Flocka Flame using it.”

But you know, that just makes too much sense for it to be right in the eyes of the Morning Joe hosts.
