Rachel Dolezal’s Adopted Sister’s Blog Shows Deep-Seated Family Issues

One has to wonder what the home life of Rachel Dolezal consisted of, but one also can’t take her word for anything nowadays, considering that she lied about her background. But a recently unearthed blog written by Rachel’s black adopted sister, Esther, shows a family in strife and conflict.

The 20-year-old Esther Dolezal’s blog provides a telling look at some of the issues plaguing the family, and even in her own relationship with Rachel. In a deleted post dating to last January, Esther outs her sister as a liar when it comes to her race.

“She talks about being real and not lying to people. But she’s been lying to all of her friends. She says she’s African American, but she’s German Caucasian,” Esther Dolezal wrote.

That post is definitely strikingly different from one posted recently in which she showed full support of her sister:

It amazes me how fast people are willing to tear down someone who has worked very hard to get where they are. It amazes me how, after all these years, and the civil rights movement, it still comes down to what color someone is. It amazes me how far people will go to tear down someone’s feeling of security. How someone will use anyone they can to tear someone down. Not only do they target that person, they have to target everyone they know and love. Not caring about the chaos they leave in their wake. Not caring who, or what they destroy as long as there is ultimate pandemonium in the end.

For something that is making a difference, someone that is making positive changes in this messed up world, why would someone want to stop the good work they are doing? Why would someone want to reverse the positivity that has been created? Why does everything have to come down to race?

People say it’s fake. Everything that has been created. The unity, the community that has resulted. All the good that has, and people want to tear it down simply because of color.

They say leaders can’t have secrets. That leaders can’t have private lives with their families. That if there is one miscommunication, then nothing is true.

Some things can’t be understood I guess.

But speaking of fakeness, think about the accusers.

You think they don’t have secrets?

A second post includes just a few words and a photo of Esther and Rachel Dolezal.

“I fully support my sister,” Esther wrote.

Esther’s blog also shows that family ties have also been severed. She writes about the time she spent in a group home after stealing a car, and describes herself as a kleptomaniac. During the Dolezals’ time in South Africa, Esther accused her mother of making them eat odd foods such as whale tongue and field mice.

As I have mentioned before, I grew up in a pretty messed up family. And by messed up, I don’t necessarily mean dysfunctional (we were that too), but just plain strange. My parents had the weirdest palette [sic], enjoying things that should have never been yanked out of nature and slapped onto a plate. I have no problem with hunters, even though I never felt it was my calling. But seriously, when your mother sets a plate of skunk in front of you at the dinner table, something isn’t normal. My mother used to cook all kinds of strange creatures, and when we moved from the US to Cape Town, South Africa, things just got worse. I’m not saying that my mom couldn’t cook, in fact she was a wonderful cook. But when it comes to pickled field mice, I don’t think there is any possible way to make it taste anything but plain nasty.

From her family’s odd palate to Rachel’s even kicking Esther out of the house once she realized she had contacted their mother, Ruthanne Dolezal, for help getting a new cellphone, it seems clear the family isn’t exactly the Brady Bunch.

Since reports surfaced Tuesday that Rachel’s biological brother, Joshua, will soon stand trial on molestation accusations, many people have been trying to figure out if the child who accused Joshua of molestation was one of the adopted children. The Dolezal parents have accused Rachel of orchestrating the molestation claims, which could be the reason they outed her for masquerading as a black woman.
