Jay Z is being sued for approximately $18 million by Parlux Fragrances, a perfume company that says the hip-hop mogul reneged on a few promotional efforts for the perfume he released with the company in 2013, TMZ reports.
The licensing agreement between Parlux and Jay Z for the fragrance, Gold Jay Z, reportedly mandated that Jay Z promote the fragrance on his social media and also make promotional appearances on Good Morning America and at Macy's to plug the product even more. He was also reportedly supposed to sit for a feature in a magazine—none of which he did, according to Parlux.
Parlux also alleges that Jay Z was supposed to release a few fragrances after Gold Jay Z, but he didn't attend meetings to develop them. The fragrance company hoped to earn about $50 million as a result of its business relationship with Jay Z, but it now claims it has a lot of unsold inventory that's not being sold.
