Popular hip-hop artist Nicki Minaj posted $100,000 bail for her brother, Jelani Maraj, 37, Friday after he was arrested earlier this week on charges of first-degree rape and first-degree sexual conduct against a 12-year-old, reports the New York Post.
The star’s older brother was arrested Tuesday in Nassau County on Long Island, N.Y. Court papers show that the bond is backed by two homes in Baldwin, N.Y. that Minaj owns. One of the homes is used by Maraj and the other by Minaj’s mother, Carol, the Post writes.
Maraj, who married his longtime girlfriend in August, is scheduled to return to court on Dec. 9, notes the report. It’s unclear if he has entered a plea.
