At the age of 48, Whitney Houston died a tragic death on Feb. 11, 2012. The singer’s body was found in a bathtub at the famed Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, Calif. According to the official autopsy report, the cause of death was an accidental drowning, and heart disease and cocaine use were listed as contributing factors.

The documentary Whitney will hit theaters on July 6 and tell the story of the singer who was once called “the Voice.” With appearances from family and friends, the doc will delve deeper in the life of the woman who garnered over 200 million album sales worldwide, and the only artist to chart seven consecutive U.S. No. 1 singles.
