Martin Lawrence Returns to TV in New Comedy Series

Martin Lawrence will be returning to television this summer in the new buddy comedy series PartnersThe half-hour series will star Lawrence and Kelsey Grammer as Chicago lawyers from vastly different backgrounds who develop a partnership after they unexpectedly meet in court on the worst day of their lives.

Outside of making movies, Lawrence has made only brief TV appearances since Martin ended in 1997.

Lawrence will also be joined by veteran TV actress Telma Hopkins, who was last seen in the Disney series Lab Rats. Hopkins will play Lawrence’s overbearing mother.

Partners will debut on the FX network Monday, Aug. 4, at 9 p.m.
