Lupita Nyong’o isn’t a stranger to the theatrical stage, but since she made her breakthrough debut in 12 Years a Slave, Hollywood productions have been her home.
Nyong’o, who graduated from the Yale School of Drama, will make her New York stage debut this September in Eclipsed, a survival story set in postcolonial Africa. Nyong’o will team up with fellow actress Danai Gurira, who stars as The Walking Dead’s Michonne and wrote the play.
But Nyong’o isn’t leaving Hollywood behind. The actress is involved with two upcoming movies that are certain to be blockbusters: She has a role in Star Wars: Episode VII—The Force Awakens and will voice a character in Disney’s The Jungle Book.
