John Legend has never been afraid to speak his mind when it comes to politics. He's single-handedly confronted Donald Trump on social media and is periodically caught in the crossfires of conservative trolls on Twitter.

Legend was asked his opinion about gun violence on the heels of the Democrats’ sit-in against gun violence Wednesday. And Legend blamed the Republicans, of course.

“We need to do something about gun safety, gun control, and the Republicans are scared to do it,” Legend said. “There’s nothing that’s gonna happen that’s gonna make them do it. If a bunch of elementary school kids getting shot isn’t gonna make them do it, then they’re not gonna do it. They’re scared of the NRA.”

And more than a fair share of people would probably agree.
