Michael Ealy, Jesse Williams and Nicole Beharie will star in a reboot of the psychological thriller Jacob’s Ladder. The 1990 film, which originally starred Tim Robbins, tells the story of a war veteran who suffers from nightmares.
According to Deadline, Ealy will executive-produce and star as Jacob, while Williams will co-star as Jacob’s brother. Beharie’s role in the movie has not been released, but fans of the TV show she starred in, Sleepy Hollow, were recently outraged that her character was killed off.
Aside from getting a face-lift with a black cast, according to the press release, the reboot will be “more akin to an homage and not mimic the original.”
The movie will be produced by LD Entertainment and Will Packer Productions. Shooting is expected to begin next month.
