Janelle Monáe proved to be an artist who isn’t just about talk on the heels of releasing her new song, “Hell You Talmbout,” dedicated to the Black Lives Matter movement.

Monáe and her Wondaland labelmates pulled off a free concert advertised only through various social media posts in Washington, D.C., Saturday, as well as a performance Friday on the Today show, which was cut short in the middle of her speech about Black Lives Matter.

Before Saturday’s performance, Monáe, Jidenna and other artists led a rally, which included a stop at the Justice Department, through the streets of D.C.
