Back in their heyday, New Edition was one of the biggest-selling boy bands. The Boston group paved the way for the likes of New Kids on the Block, ’N Sync and the countless other boy bands who came along after them.
Unlike a lot of those bands, New Edition is still performing across the world. It doesn’t matter that some of them may be close to being card-carrying members of AARP—they still manage to bring a piece of R&B nostalgia to every performance.
But don’t ask Bobby Brown to finish a song without losing his breath.
During a recent performance in Mississippi, New Edition seemed to be in sync during “If It Isn’t Love,” until Brown started to falter and miss a few steps. But as if that wasn’t bad enough, Brown actually left the stage.
It may not be Throwback Thursday yet, but let’s take a moment to remember the New Edition of yesteryear, even though Brown was no longer with the group:
