'Fruitvale Station' Trends on Twitter

(The Root) — Ryan Coogler's first full-length film, Fruitvale Station, officially hit theaters today, but it has been the talk of the cinema world for weeks. The Sundance winner is based on the life of Oscar Grant, a young, unarmed black man who was shot to death by police in Oakland, Calif.

With the high-profile case of Trayvon Martin saturating news and culture, tons of buzz has been swirling about Fruitvale Station. On its opening day, it was definitely the talk of Twitter among those who have seen it, will see it or aren't sure if they can see it. Check out what people are saying about the film below.
