Don’t Wake Me, I’m Stealing: R&B Singer Christopher Williams Arrested for Taking Headphones

Chris Williams, an R&B throwback who apparently forgot to put some headphones back, has been arrested for petty theft, according to TMZ.

The entertainment website reports that the singer walked out of a Kohl’s in McDonough, Ga., with the $99.99 headphones. TMZ’s sources claim that Williams had left the store earlier, only to return to grab the headphones, which he put in his tote bag.

Security stopped him as he tried to walk out with the unpaid merchandise. TMZ’s sources claim that Williams said he had simply forgotten that he’d placed the headphones in his bag, but he was arrested by the cops who had been called.

Even if you’re wondering who the hell Williams is and why he looks so familiar, his last hit was back in 1991 with the single “I’m Dreaming.” He also appeared in New Jack City. Plus, he appeared on Real Housewives of Atlanta, where he triggered a brawl after confronting cast member Kenya Moore over comments she had made about his marriage.

But Williams is most notorious for being the dude who maybe, probably, allegedly hit ex-girlfriend Halle Berry so hard that she lost her hearing. It’s an allegation he still denies; Williams claims that Wesley Snipes is the real culprit.

Let’s focus on what’s really newsworthy about all this: that Williams still warrants a TMZ headline.
