Well, it’s clear that HBO is trying to dig its True Detective anthology out of the grave, because last season was a flaming-hot Cheetos turkey of a train wreck, Colin Farrell be damned.

This upcoming season—its third—will see not only the chocolate boy thunder Mahershala Ali but also Carmen Ejogo of Selma and Sparkle fame.

According to the Hollywood Reporter:

Season three will tell the story of a macabre crime in the heart of the Ozarks and a mystery that deepens over decades and plays out in three separate time periods. Ejogo will play the female lead, Amelia Reardon, an Arkansas schoolteacher with a connection to two missing children in 1980. Ali (Moonlight) stars as Wayne Hays, a state police detective from Northwest Arkansas.

You can also catch Ejogo opposite Denzel Washington in the new release Roman J. Israel, Esq.
