May Day, May Day!

It’s the month that blooms flowers after April’s showers, and Netflix is back with a side of melanin.

Shout-out to more options to check out and/or re-watch Barry Jenkins’ Moonlight and Season 1 of FX’s Pose!

Netflix Originals will be having a good month with its new animated series Tuca & Bertie premiering on May 3, Spike Lee-produced sci-fi flick, See You Yesterday dropping on May 17, comedy special Wanda Sykes: Not Normal coming on May 21, and She’s Gotta Have It returning for its second season on May 24.

Netflix will be rounding out the month with its limited series chronicling the Central Park Five entitled, When They See Us, set to debut on May 31.

Oh, and in case you were hoping to see Mekhi Phifer in his locs lacefront one last time on Netflix, it’s too bad because the streaming platform has chucked the deuces to the Eminem flick.

And if you need an earworm, Netflix has Strong Black Legends (coming soon: host Tracy Clayton will discuss The Two Killings of Sam Cooke with director Kelly Duane) and You Can’t Make This Up (now streaming: an interview with the legendary Robert Townsend).

‘Til next month!
