Disgraced comedian Bill Cosby might be a lot of things—an alleged serial rapist, “a sexually violent predator,” inmate number NN7687—but one title he can no longer claim is “America’s Dad.”

Nah, bruh.

We threw that baby out with the bathwater.

America’s Dad wouldn’t be serving time in prison for sexual assault. America’s Dad wouldn’t have 59 other women accusing him of similar heinous crimes. America’s Dad wouldn’t admit to drugging women that he intended to have sex with.

Yet for some inexplicable reason, the 81-year-old registered sex offender decided to derail an otherwise marvelous Father’s Day with this foolishness:

“Hey, Hey, Hey...It’s America’s Dad,” he posted on Twitter. “I know it’s late, but to all of the Dads... It’s an honor to be called a Father, so let’s make today a renewed oath to fulfilling our purpose — strengthening our families and communities.”

This coming from a guy who—you know what? Never mind.

The above caption was paired with a clip of a young Cosby dissecting how America “breaks up the Black man’s family.”

“It isn’t important whether a few black heroes got lost, or stolen, or strayed in America’s history textbooks. What’s important is why they got left out,” he says in the clip, presumably alluding to his current fall from grace.

But let me step aside and get on with the show. Take it away, Black Twitter.

Cosby’s spokesman, Andrew Wyatt, told USA Today that the Fat Albert creator pulled the trigger on the ill-conceived message in an effort to support the organization Man Up.

“Mr. Cosby’s (message) consisted of telling these men who have been incarcerated for many years, but are up for parole soon [...] to [...] take the word ‘disadvantage’ and remove the ‘dis,’ and start focusing on the advantage,” he said. “That advantage is to be better fathers and productive citizens.”

I can think of a few ways in which “America’s Dad” could’ve been a better father himself, but can we please keep his convicted ass away from the rest of the holidays we’re all trying to enjoy this year?
